I came to CitySprint in 2011 as part of an acquisition, being part of the Fleet administration team, and although at the time things felt scary, Citysprint were very good at integrating people and their new environment.

From there I was given the opportunity to learn multiple new systems, and my direct interaction with couriers helped me to understand their needs, which led to me moving into a courier recruitment position. This then gave me an opportunity to apply for a new position in 2015 “Fleet Development Manager” for London Central, helping recruit over 400 couriers per year.

With CitySprint having over 35 offices across the UK, an Opportunity to move to a location by the Sea was never far away, and when the GM role at “Plymouth, Devon” came up in 2017, I grabbed it with both hands. Needless to say that I haven’t looked back.

I joined CitySprint in July 2019. Since then, I have achieved a remarkable amount, and my desire to learn as much as possible has afforded me a wealth of responsibility. I am fortunate to have received extensive training from a fantastic manager. With his encouragement I have really built my confidence and self-esteem.

I have recently started working towards an NVQ in customer management. I have also been given the opportunity to help in training some of the new starters, giving them the support and assistance that they need to forge their own path with CitySprint.

One of the reasons I love working for CitySprint is I feel that I have been given a good level of responsibility, and I am also given the freedom to make my own judgements and decisions and work individually. My initial months were spent co-ordinating the deliveries for key customers within both the Healthcare and Military sectors, so I can easily see the real-world implications that my role has on a daily basis. Being the courier of choice for these important organisations really gives me a sense of purpose.

I also love my job for the recognition it gives. I was the first recipient of the CitySprint Smarty Award within Customer Services. I received a fully expenses paid trip to London, receiving vouchers and have lunch with colleagues and the executive team, building lasting relationships with key people and making friends in the process. This is certainly my proudest achievement.

Above all else, my colleagues and the team I am a part of here at CitySprint are what drive me to take on any challenge and do as much as possible to ensure that all outcomes are positive. I have always had excellent support from my managers and colleagues.

Having a strong work ethic, seeing the end goal and focusing, no matter how difficult a situation can be, will certainly help you in building a strong career path and achieving your goals within CitySprint.

I joined CitySprint in November 2016 eager for a new challenge, and I certainly got what I was looking for!
My journey started as a Finance Clerk in the Accounts Payable team within the Finance department. I was welcomed to the team and immediately felt at ease with the exciting prospect of a new role.

In October 2018, I was given the chance to step up and become Senior Finance Clerk, with that came the opportunity to tackle new projects and lead the cost saving venture we wanted to focus on.

After nearly 18 months in that role I was then promoted to Accounts Payable Supervisor and this my biggest but most exciting challenge yet! CitySprint has given me fantastic opportunities, chances to progress professionally and personally and the support received from colleagues across the business has been extraordinary.
